How to get ready for spring cleaning

by Clendy S.p.A. 04 Jan 2024

Spring cleaning is undoubtedly one of the most hectic and important times of the year when we talk about home. Organizing all clothes and bed linen requires large spaces and a certain organization, but how can we do it? In this article, we explain which accessories to use to organize clothes during spring cleaning.

How to use space-saving bags for spring cleaning

Storage

A very useful accessory for organizing clothing and bed linen is undoubtedly the space-saving bag. But what is it? A space-saving bag is a bag, generally made of plastic, that allows you to insert the item and store it by optimizing its volume. How? By vacuum-sealing it and then storing it in the appropriate spaces without taking up too much room.

How can you vacuum-seal an item in a space-saving bag? The process is very simple, with the premise that there are two types of bags: those with a valve and those without a valve.

Is there a difference between the two? Not much, really, except for the action needed to aspirate the air. In fact, for both, it is recommended to use a vacuum cleaner to speed up the process (the old hand method takes more time and effort, and considering that every home now has a vacuum cleaner, we advise you to use it), but they have different applications.

Bags without a valve require the electric broom's stick to be inserted into a corner of the bag, so you'll need to be quick and continuous to achieve the effect, unlike bags with a valve, where once the vacuum nozzle is applied, all the air can be sucked out without problems.

Types and uses of space-saving bags

Not all space-saving bags are the same, clearly. They come in different sizes and, of course, each has a different purpose. For example, in the Clendy line, we find three sizes.

The first is the 50x60 cm size, ideal for organizing T-shirts, polo shirts, and lighter garments, perhaps even some smaller sheets, useful for storing them in smaller drawers or more compact furniture. The second is the 70x100 cm size, which makes it easier to store sweatshirts, blankets, and more, perfect for placing in medium-sized wardrobes and bed drawers. Finally, the maximum size, which is 80x130 cm, designed specifically to hold duvets, jackets, and heavier clothing in general, which in this practical format are to be stored in larger wardrobes and even in bed drawers.

One or more space-saving bags can also be useful when packing, allowing you to fit more clothes while traveling with the same weight.
