How to store prepared and leftover side dishes

by Clendy S.p.A. 22 Jan 2024

When preparing main meals for the day, especially for dinner, it's possible that some items need to be prepared in advance or that there might be leftovers, such as side dishes. Preparing vegetables or produce that won't be served hot requires a period of storage, so they need to be in conditions that prevent them from being affected by external agents. In this article, we will look at ways to store prepared and leftover food or side dishes.

The quickest and often most common methods for storing food involve covering the top of the bowl or container to prevent contamination by wrapping it with cling film or using dedicated, usually more airtight, lids.

However, although plastic or aluminum lids are airtight and cover food more completely, sometimes they are not necessary for storing food for a short time, for example, when you have a dinner on the same evening the dishes were prepared and therefore something quicker is needed. A solution, not to be underestimated, comes from Clendy: these are the food covers.

Why might they be useful? We are talking about very practical plastic covers, as they are equipped with an elastic closure, which therefore extends over containers in multiple sizes from 10 to 42 cm. This way, not only can food be stored without being affected by external agents, but it will also be even quicker to bring them to the table by simply lifting the cover, saving time and money on more expensive utensils.
